GEMELA 2008 Conference:Corrientes culturales en el Atlántico: La mujer en España y las Américas

Description:
The conference will focus on women's cultural production in Medieval and Early Modern Spain and Colonial Latin America. We welcome interdisciplinary papers and suggestions for discussion panels and/or workshops on theory, pedagogy and other related topics. Papers may be delivered in Spanish or English.
Proposal deadline:
One-page abstracts in Word format by April 15, 2008.

Graduate students should send an abstract along with a full text (7-10 pages maximum) via e-mail with the subject line of "2008 Graduate Submission." Papers by graduate students will automatically be submitted to the Graduate Student Award competition. All presenters must pay 2008 membership ($30 for two years) and the conference registration fee ($90 faculty/$50 students) by June 1, 2008. Participants traveling from abroad can pay upon arrival at the conference, but need to confirm participation by June 1, 2008.
