Assistant Professor or Instructor in Spanish and French

Description:
Full-time entry-level one-year position (with possibility of renewal), with benefits, to begin Fall Semester 2008, pending administrative approval. Candidate must be qualified to teach both French and Spanish language as well as specialized courses in language, relevant literatures and cultures at all levels of undergraduate study. Specialization is open.

Areas of interest that would contribute significantly to our Modern Languages and Literatures Department are Caribbean Studies, Applied Linguistics, or Language Teaching Methodology. Training in the application of technology to all levels of instruction, and/or translation/interpretation are also desirable.

Minimum Requirements:
PhD in relevant field such as French, Spanish, Romance Languages

Preferred Qualifications:
PhD in relevant field. Native/near native proficiency in French, Spanish and English. Demonstrable commitment to the teaching of language.
