ANTHROPOLOGY OF GLOBALIZATION

The University of Massachusetts Boston invites applications for a tenure-track position in Sociocultural Anthropology at the Assistant Professor level to begin September 1, 2008 specializing in the ethnographic study of contemporary globalization and its impacts on local communities, including indigenous peoples. Strongest consideration will be given to an applicant whose primary research area is located in the Caribbean or Latin America, and whose research and publication record shows demonstrated promise. Experience teaching in urban public institutions with diverse student bodies is desirable. PhD in Anthropology must be in hand by August 31, 2008. We will begin reviewing applications on November 1st and continue until the position is filled.
