ConocoPhillips Chair in Latin American Studies

Description:
The School of International and Area Studies in the University of Oklahoma College of Arts and Sciences invites nominations and applications for the ConocoPhillips Chair in Latin American Studies. The appointment will be tenured at the rank of associate or full professor. The teaching load for this position is two classes per semester.
Candidates must demonstrate a strong record of publication and potential for further research, evidence of excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching, and an earned doctorate. We are especially interested in candidates with any of the following specializations: the international relations of Latin America, including relations between the United States and Latin America; the political economy of Latin America, including energy resources; and comparative focus on Brazil.
Applicants must submit a letter explaining their interest and qualifications, complete curriculum vitae, and contact information for three letters of reference. Nominations should include a brief description and contact information for the nominee. Review of applications will begin Nov. 9, 2007, and continue until the position is filled. The preferred start date is Aug. 16, 2008. Salary will be competitive.
