Description:
The program in International Development and Globalization is seeking applicants with academic training and research experience in the field of international development in one of the following areas:

• Social Economy and Community Economic Development

• Development theories and Ethics

• Migration; Identity; Urban development

Preference for specialists in the geographic areas of Latin America and the Caribbean and Asia. Significant field experience would be an asset.

DUTIES

• Teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels

 • Supervise graduate students

• Conduct research and publishing activities

• Participate in academic and administrative activities

• Perform other activities as specified in the collective agreement.

STARTING DATE: July 1, 2008

Deadline:
Consideration of applications will begin on October 22, 2007: applications received after this date may be studied until the positions are successfully filled.

Minimum Requirements:
Hold a Ph.D. (candidates who are close to completing a Ph.D. may be considered) in the field of International Development.

Significant field experience

Demonstrate excellence or the potential for excellence in teaching, research and team work

Possess a strong publication and research track record

BILINGUALISM The University of Ottawa is a bilingual institution, and all professors in the Faculty of Social Sciences must be actively bilingual (English-French) to gain tenure. The University offers second-language training to staff members and their spouses.
