University Lecturership in the Political Economy of Latin America

The School of Interdisciplinary Area Studies and the Department of International Development propose to appoint a University Lecturer in the Political Economy of Latin America. The Lecturership is tenable from 1 October 2008.

Minimum Requirements:
Applicants should have a doctorate or equivalent in politics or economics or political economy, with reference to Latin America. Applicants should have the capacity to win external research funding, a proven track record of research of international quality on the political economy of Latin America or cognate fields, and an academic publication record in international journals and with major presses in Latin American Studies and International Development. The successful candidate will have the ability and experience necessary to teach and supervise graduate students at masters and doctoral level, to carry out student assessment, and to contribute to the design and delivery of degree programmes.
