DEAN OF THE ARTSUNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, SANTA CRUZ Description: The Dean will further develop existing graduate programs, bring new graduate proposals to fruition, and lead the Arts Division in the establishment of new programs and centers (such as the planned Center for Art and Visual Studies), further advancing the Division’s prominence and international reputation. The successful candidate will foster creative and critical thinking and enable faculty and students to reach beyond traditional disciplinary boundaries to produce new cultural forms. We seek a scholar and /or practitioner with significant administrative experience who is dedicated to supporting cultural diversity, committed to promoting progressive approaches to arts research, scholarship and creative practice, and is prepared to champion the important role of the arts across the university curriculum. The successful candidate will provide creative, academic, and administrative leadership for the Arts Division and will report to the Campus Provost/Executive Vice Chancellor. The Dean of the Arts Division participates in shared governance together with the campus administration and faculty-led Academic Senate. Deans are appointed to the Senior Management Program.
