The Department of Spanish and Portuguese of Tulane University invites applications for a tenured or tenure-track position in modern Latin American Literature and Culture, subject to a final university decision on funding. The preference is for a distinguished senior scholar, but candidates at the assistant or associate levels are also encouraged to apply, as we may be in a position to make two hires. We are seeking the very best candidate regardless of regional, theoretical, or sub-field specialization, but welcome especially applicants who focus on theater, performance studies, Mexican and/or Latino Studies.

Minimum Requirements:
PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
Senior candidates should have a distinguished publication record, an active presence in Latin American literary and cultural criticism, and international visibility in the field. The successful candidate should demonstrate ability to contribute to graduate and undergraduate programs by advising students, effective and innovative teaching, and directing PhD dissertations.
