The Canadian Association of Latin American and Caribbean Studies invites submissions of paper proposals for its 40th anniversary congress. With area studies showing that reports of its demise after the end of the Cold War were greatly exaggerated, and models of globalization shaken by recent events, CALACS seeks to commemorate its 40 years by featuring work that is exploring a new agenda for area studies in Latin America and the Caribbean. Participants are encouraged to situate their proposals within the congress theme, however papers are welcome on all topics of interest in Latin American and Caribbean studies.

L'Association canadienne des études latino-américaines et caraïbes vous invite à participer au congrès du 40ième anniversaire de l’ACÉLAC, sous le thème « Refaire la carte des études régionales ». Alors que les études régionales sont loin d’être disparues comme la fin de la Guerre froide semblait le présager, et que les modèles de mondialisation ont été profondément secoués par les événements récents, l’ACÉLAC propose de célébrer son anniversaire en suscitant des discussions sur un nouvel agenda des études régionales pour l’Amérique latine et les Caraïbes. Nous invitons les chercheurs à proposer une communication dans le cadre de notre thème; cependant, l’ACÉLAC accueille également les propositions provenant de tous les domaines de recherche des études latino-américaines et caraïbes.
