The Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies (CLACS) at New York University invites applications for an Assistant Professor/Faculty Fellow. CLACS is a Title VI National Resource Center (jointly with Columbia University’s Institute of Latin American Studies) with a vibrant MA program and links with doctoral programs in the disciplines. We are looking for an outstanding Latin Americanist/Caribbeanist with demonstrable commitment to interdisciplinary scholarship and excellence in teaching. Discipline and regional specialization are open.

Minimum Requirements:
Responsibilities include teaching three courses per year in the CLACS MA program (including at least one course in the 1st year core), mentoring students, directing MA projects, and participating in faculty colloquia. Ph.D. must have been completed within five years of appointment, which begins September 1, 2010, renewable annually for a maximum of three years.
