Assistant Professor of Spanish Linguistics/Generalist Latin American Literature

Description:
Duties include teaching Spanish language, linguistics, culture, and Latin American literature to undergraduate students at all levels, participation in assessment and proficiency testing. The successful candidate will be expected to establish a strong program of research and scholarship, to advise students, and to contribute to the life and work of the department and the college. We are especially interested in considering applicants who bring diverse cultural experiences or perspectives to the campus and who can mentor and advise all members of our diverse student body. Start date is August 2010.

Minimum Requirements:
Completed Ph.D. by time of appointment, but exceptional ABD applicants will be considered. Native or near-native fluency, promise of scholarly productivity, and teaching experience is highly desired.
