The Universidad de San Andrés is seeking to hire a professor in the area of International Relations. Candidates should have completed postgraduate training at the doctoral level at an internationally recognized university, demonstrate strong capability in the production of scientific knowledge and demonstrate talent in undergraduate and graduate teaching. Candidates at any level of their academic career will be considered. Demonstrated experience in activities relevant to the broad transmission of knowledge and/or institutional development will be positively valued.

The person selected will serve as a full-time professor and researcher in the Department of Humanities. The position involves teaching three courses per year, advising of undergraduate and graduate theses, and the ongoing development of an ambitious research agenda.

Working conditions, remuneration, and career prospects will be competitive and commensurate with the experience and productivity of the person selected.

Documents Required:
Persons interested in being considered for this position should submit a presentation that includes the following items:

  • A statement of purpose detailing why you want to join the University of San Andrés, your plans for professional development, and how your research interests relates to similar activity currently underway in the Department of the Humanities.
  • An up-to-date curriculum vitae that details, among other things, your scientific publications, your participation inconferences, research projects that you have worked on (including the position held in the project), and other activities relevant to the development of the discipline (such as peer review of papers or research proposals). The text should also list university courses taught and undergraduate and graduate theses advised.
  • Two letters of recommendation.
  • A sample syllabus for teaching an undergraduate course grade in any subject relevant to the field of international relations.
  • Copies of any articles or book chapters published that the candidate considers to most accurately reflect their ability to produce knowledge. Please submit up to three texts, preferably already published or in press.
Hard copies of the application materials and a CD or DVD containing electronic versions of the statement of purpose, the C.V. and the model course should be submitted.
