ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, SPANISH

Description:
The Department of Hispanic Studies invites applications for a tenure-track position in Spanish at the Assistant Professor level. The position will begin July 1, 2012. Specialization: Linguistics. Ph.D. is required at time of appointment. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:
We are seeking a faculty member to cover the usual range of undergraduate offerings in phonology and structure of the Spanish language, as well as history of the language and a specialty seminar at the graduate level. Research interests might include: second language acquisition, globalization, pedagogy, or languages in contact. The ability to teach Portuguese or one of the indigenous languages of Latin America is also of interest.

Preferred Qualifications:
PhD required
