Responsibilities: The position will involve teaching courses in Chicana/o or Latina/o Literature, consistent with the candidate’s area(s) of specialization; core courses for our English majors; and General Education courses (such as Intro to Lit and First-year Writing). The teaching load is 4/4.

Minimum Requirements:
Requirements: The successful candidate must have a PhD in hand by August 1, 2010 that demonstrates primary specialization in Chicana/o or Latina/o literatures. Teaching courses in Chicana/o or Latina/o Literatures as well as First-year Writing is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Our preferred candidate will demonstrate interest in assuming a leadership role in developing new courses within the English Department curriculum stemming from this specialization, as well as collaborating with other departments and faculty across campus who are active in Latin American Studies and multicultural education.
The successful candidate will have an active research agenda, and will have secondary areas of interest that might include one or more of the following: transnational culture and migration studies; translation studies; multiculturalism and teacher education; gender studies; cultural studies; rhetoric and composition; other American literary traditions. Finalists must successfully complete interview process and teaching demonstration.
