Graduate Fellowship in Latin American Politics

The Department of Political Science at the University of Guelph announces the opening of a competition for a one-year Graduate Research Fellowship in Latin American Politics for the 2008-2009 academic year. This fellowship is part of a research programme on the expansion of sexual minority rights in Latin America, being carried out by Professor Jordi Díez and funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC). The student will work on various aspects of this research under the supervision of Prof. Díez. The successful candidate will have a background in sexual and gender politics, public policy or social mobilization in Latin America. Fluency in Spanish is required.

The fellowship is open to students accepted into the Master’s Degree Programme offered by our department. Interested candidates are asked to submit a letter of interest along with their application. An interview with selected candidates will be conducted in February 2008. Our department will, when feasible, cover travel costs.
