Description:
Tulane University: Inter-American Policy and Research Fellowship. The Center for Inter-American Policy and Research (CIPR) invites applications for a research fellowship for the Academic Year 2008-2009. Applications from the social and historical sciences in the fields of international relations, international political economy, comparative institutional studies, and policy studies are encouraged. Latin American expertise and Spanish fluency required. Fellows will be selected based on intellectual merit and the potential impact that their research and experience could have on the strategic advancement of CIPR’s programs.
The fellowship entails a one year, residential, full-time appointment and carries a stipend of $47,500 plus benefits. Contracts might be extended contingent upon funding and based on the development of program objectives. Applicants must be prepared to work in conjunction with the Center’s director to develop programmatic content and project initiatives in areas related to Inter-American relations, comparative governance, human development, and others. Specific responsibilities will be defined jointly during the initial phase of the appointment. Applicants must plan to complete their Ph.D. by no later than June 2008. Recent graduates with no longer than three years since receiving their Ph.D. are especially encouraged as applicants.
